Standout Lighting

There are limitless options when it comes to lighting fixtures these days.  It is almost overwhelming, but there is good reason for such a wide array of choices.  We need to light our homes!  Candles get messy and there is that whole fire hazard element to it…so we turn to electric.  Of course the mere need for light does not explain why there are thousands of variations on the candelabra chandelier.  These fixtures that illuminate our Dining Rooms, Foyers, Hall Ways, Kitchens, etc. add to the interest of the space they inhabit.  In fact sometimes a beautiful fixture is the ONLY thing making a room interesting.  Lighting can be pricey, so not every fixture in your house needs to be a jewel.  Let the less public or “important” areas of your house have fixtures that blend more into the architecture.  Save the really fabulous fixtures for the rooms you spend the most time in, or where their shape can best be admired.  Below are some of my favorites stand out fixtures that are definitely not made to be hidden in a laundry room.
